My Pet Peeve.

In our small world of shiplovers and picture collectors for private use and enjoyment, there should not be any websites with protection schemes to keep from copying a picture to ones own collection. The hassle of having to e-mail for permission and subsequent mailing will only fill up mailboxes for all the wrong reasons. Other than for professional photographers such as the FOTOFLITE and sites like that. They are in the business to sell photos. But most of us, I hope, are doing this photosharing for the love of the hobby. If a rare picture appears that is worth the trouble, I would not mind buying a hard copy and paying a reasonable price for it. I have never gone shopping for ship photos. I usually look for books on ships and shipping. So I do not think that there is that much of a market out there to justify a website just for selling pictures. I had to get this of my mind. Sorry about that.
Other than taking pictures of birds, I cannot think of a more peaceful hobby than taking pictures of ships. There is somewhat of
a parallel, sometimes I disturb a seagull or a pelican.
